Church Audio & Media System Troubleshooting

Something’s not right with your sound — and you need someone who can actually tell you why.

If your church’s sound system is feeding back, hard to understand, uneven from the front row to the back, or just doesn’t sound the way it used to, Living Sound can find out what’s actually going on and fix it. We diagnose and resolve audio and media system problems for churches across Dallas–Fort Worth — whether the system was installed by us or by someone else.

Signs it might be time to call us

  • Feedback that appears without warning
  • Speech that’s hard to follow, especially toward the back
  • Sound that’s noticeably better in some seats than others
  • Wireless microphones cutting out or dropping mid-service
  • Livestream or broadcast audio that doesn’t match what the room hears
  • A system that should sound better than it does

Problems Churches Bring to Us

Feedback and ringing that comes and goes, or worsens as a service goes on.

Speech that’s hard to follow, particularly in certain seating areas.

Uneven coverage — clear in the center section, weak or harsh off to the sides or in the back.

Wireless microphones and in-ears that cut out or behave unpredictably.

Livestream and broadcast audio that doesn’t match what the room actually hears.

A system that never quite sounded right after installation — the cause can range from room tuning to configuration drift over time.

If any of this sounds familiar, it’s worth having the actual system evaluated rather than guessing at fixes.

The Living Sound Troubleshooting Service

Living Sound diagnoses and solves problems in church audio and media systems — for systems we installed, and for systems installed by someone else.

When you contact us, we start by reviewing your symptoms: what’s happening, when it started, and what may have changed. From there, an on-site diagnostic identifies the actual cause, which could be system design, configuration, tuning, gain structure, equipment condition, room acoustics, or how the system is being operated day to day.

Configuration, routing, DSP, and tuning issues are generally resolved on site. If a piece of equipment genuinely needs attention, we tell you clearly and help you decide between repair, replacement, or an upgrade. Living Sound isn’t a component-level electronics repair shop — but we make sure you know exactly what’s wrong before you spend anything to fix it.

What We Diagnose & Solve

  • Digital console routing & configuration
  • DSP configuration & system tuning
  • Gain structure — a common hidden cause of noise, feedback, and inconsistent volume
  • Dante / AES50 network problems — dropouts, routing errors, configuration issues
  • Speaker system configuration & coverage
  • Feedback & speech intelligibility issues
  • Wireless microphone & RF problems
  • Livestream & broadcast audio problems
  • Audio signal flow issues — tracing a problem across consoles, processors, and amplifiers
  • Settings left over from a previous installation that were never properly commissioned for the room

How Our Troubleshooting Process Works

01

Tell us what’s happening. A quick call or email — the symptoms, when they started, and anything that’s changed recently.

02

On-site diagnostic. A technician evaluates signal flow, console and DSP configuration, gain structure, speaker coverage, and network or wireless systems as needed.

03

Root cause identification. We determine what’s actually driving the problem — configuration, tuning, gain structure, room acoustics, equipment condition, or a combination.

04

A clear recommendation. Plain-language explanation of what’s wrong and what it takes to fix it.

05

Resolution. We resolve configuration, routing, DSP, and tuning issues directly. If hardware repair, replacement, or an upgrade is needed, we coordinate the right next step.

06

Verification. We confirm the problem you called about is actually resolved.

Is It a Setting, or Is It Broken?

Not every sound problem means something is broken. The cause could be system design, configuration, tuning, gain structure, equipment condition, room acoustics, or how the system is operated day to day — sometimes more than one at once. That’s why Living Sound diagnoses thoroughly before recommending anything.

If the issue is configuration or tuning, we resolve it on site. If it’s a genuine hardware problem — a failing driver, an amplifier channel, aging wireless gear — we tell you clearly and walk you through repair, replacement, or upgrade options.

If your system hasn’t had a full evaluation recently, our Inspection service documents its condition in detail, including insurance-ready reporting.

If the right fix is a larger upgrade or redesign, our Consultation service can help you plan it.

FAQ

Our sound system suddenly started feeding back. What causes that?

Feedback can come from microphone placement, gain structure, EQ, room acoustics, or a combination. We diagnose the specific cause in your room rather than guessing at a fix.

Why can’t people in the back of our sanctuary hear clearly?

This can involve speaker coverage, tuning, room acoustics, or configuration. We evaluate your system on site to find the actual cause before recommending a solution.

Our wireless microphones keep cutting out during service. Can you fix that?

Possibly — the cause could be RF interference, frequency coordination, antenna placement, or aging hardware. We diagnose what’s actually happening and, if equipment needs to be replaced, we’ll tell you clearly.

Do you work on systems that another company installed?

Yes. We evaluate what’s already in your building and work from there, regardless of who installed it.

Can you repair broken equipment, or do you only diagnose problems?

Living Sound diagnoses and solves audio and media system problems, including configuration, routing, DSP, and tuning issues, which we resolve on site. When equipment has genuinely failed, we’re not a component-level electronics repair shop — but we’ll tell you clearly and help you decide between repair, replacement, or an upgrade.

Do you serve churches outside Dallas and Fort Worth proper?

Yes — see the service area above, or contact us to confirm your location.
